Shares outstanding is pulled daily from a live market-data source, but it updates periodically rather than every single trading day -- a flat 30/90-day change usually means nothing new has been reported yet, not a tracking failure. Some funds can't be tracked this way at all (mutual funds and non-exchange-traded interval funds aren't covered by this data source).
